PAPER SOURCE (SANTA MONICA) COOKIE EXCHANGE

Who doesn't love cookies? How about cookies carefully wrapped in spectacularly designed packaging? Myself and the ladies at Paper Source Santa Monica where I worked for over two years are suckers for sweets and paper goods. We were all there for a reason or two. We had book clubs, craft nights... we threw baby showers... but the most I get giddy about is our Cookie Exchange. Come Christmastime and Valentine's, we put our magic hats on and bake up a storm. Then, the real fun and work begins - we compete with each other with the most creative way of packaging the sweets. It's amazing what all these ladies literally bring to the table! Everyone's work is unique and inspiring that when the cookie exchange is over, we immediately look forward to the next one with eyes wide open for ideas on how our next one should be.

Behind the scene prep-work:

My choice of cookies: Butterscotch Cream Cheese Cookie Swirls. I'm not a very good baker, you see!

I think these bad boys are ready! TIP: bake your cookies a day before packing otherwise they crumble!

I miss these ladies terribly and my holidays won't be as fun without them and our Cookie Exchanges. Nowadays, there's a bit of nostalgia when I bake and I fondly reminisce the good times. Because of this experience, I've come to appreciate good packaging even more. So much so that it's now part of my repertoire.
